Tom Burke2.jpgChair Tom Burke

Tom Burke has been a resident of Bible Hill since 1977.  He is originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia and has worked for many years in the Water Well and Compressed Gas industry.  In 1995 Tom started his own business – “Welpro” and created a division for Health Products in 2001. 

Tom was also a member of the original Bible Hill Recreation Association which would later become the Bible Hill Parks and Recreation Committee. 
 
Tom has been a Commissioner with Village of Bible Hill for over 14 years.  Currently, Tom serves as the Chairman of the Village Commission.

 

    

Deputy Chair Donna Van Kroonenburg

Donna Van Kroonenburg has lived in The Village of Bible Hill for most of her life.  She is married to Leo and has two daughters and one son.

Donna is a member of the Bible Hill Ladies Auxiliary Fire Brigade.  She was a Sparks, Brownie and Pathfinder leader for the Village for many years.  She is also a member of the Immaculate Conception Church where she is member of the Catholic Women’s League.  She loves to golf in Debert on Wednesday Nights during the season. Also loves to spend time at Brule Beach.

She is currently employed with the District Health Authority #4(Colchester Regional Hospital), she has been there for nearly 10 years.  Before that you could have found her at Glenview Lodge Nursing Home where she was the Administrator in their final years before becoming the current Mira Nursing Home.

“I have the best interest of the Residents and Families of this beautiful Village when I am sitting at the Commission table.”

Donna is the Commissioner responsible for Environmental Services.


Commissioner Michelle Dawson-Sharbell

Michelle Dawson-Sharbell is a long time resident of Bible Hill.  She is married and has three daughters. 

Michelle is the current president of the Central Nova Chapter International Association of Administrative Professionals.  She has volunteered at Bible Hill Central Elementary School, Redcliff Middle School, and Bible Hill Junior High school.  She has also volunteered with Scotia Pool and with Girl Guides of Canada.

Michelle is a current graduate of the NSCC Office Administration Program and a retired member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. 

"As a dedicated volunteer, I believe it is important to give back to the community in whatever capacity you are able to."

Michelle is the Commissioner responsible for Protective Services.


 
Commissioner Sharon McLean

Sharon.jpgCommissioner McLean was elected to the Bible Hill Village Commission in June 2003 and served as Chair of the Village from 2008 to 2010.  Sharon is a lifelong resident of the Village of Bible Hill.  She received her early education in Bible Hill schools and graduated from Central Colchester High School.  Following her graduation, Sharon earned a Diploma in Business from Central Colchester High School.

Sharon is married to Eldridge Bert McLean.  They reside in Bible Hill where they raised their two daughters.  They currently have four grandchildren.

Sharon has been employed by the Province of Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture, retiring following thirty years of provincial government service in the business of agriculture.

Sharon is a member of St. David’s United Church in Bible Hill.  She is a member of the United Church Women.  Sharon is a member of Marigold Chapter IODE, as well as volunteering with several other organizations.  

“I welcome the opportunity of serving my community.  It is a pleasure to work with the Bible Hill team.”  

  Sharon is the Commissioner responsible for Recreation Services.

Commissioner Robert Mahar

R Mahar.jpgRobert has been married to Susan for 23 years and they are the proud grandparents of two beautiful granddaughters. Born and educated in Truro, Robert has extensive experience in retail management with 41 years in the food business, 27 of these in management.

Robert is a former Board member of the Truro and Colchester Boys and Girls Club, a past president of the Digby Boys and Girls Club, Past President of the Digby Block Parent Association, Former Finance Committee Member of the Digby Grace United Church.

Robert resides at Maple Boulevard in Bible Hill and is proud to serve all residents of the Village of Bible Hill.

Robert is the Commissioner responsible for Transportation Services.
