The Village of Bible Hill receives its legislative authority and responsibility from the Province of Nova Scotia. The authority is detailed in the Municipal Government Act. The Village is governed by 5 elected representatives; currently serving the Village are: Chairwoman Sharon McLean,Deputy Chair Thomas Burke, and Commissioners Robert Mahar, Donna Van Kroonenburg and Michelle Dawson-Sharbell.

The Village meets the third Tuesday of every month (except July) at 7.00pm in the Village Hall chambers at 67 Pictou Road. Time is set aside for members of the public to bring up their concerns, compliments or complaints. In addition the Village has a scheduled Commission in Committee meetings on the preceding Tuesday.

The Village holds its Annual Meeting on the first Monday in June each year.

Bylaws

Bible Hill is administered by two levels of civic government; the bylaws of the Village of Bible Hill and the Municipality of the County of Colchester are both in effect.
