COVID-19 Pandemic Safety Plan

Village of Bible Hill has compiled a pandemic safety plan, outlining the procedures in place at the Village to ensure the safety of our staff and the public and to help limit the spread of COVID-19.

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses. Some cause illness in people and others cause illness in animals. Human coronaviruses are common and are typically associated with mild illnesses, similar to the common cold.
As a result of the spread of COVID-19, a Provincial state of emergency has been declared by the Province of Nova Scotia, and a public health order has been issued under the Health Protection Act, along with various directives under Emergency Management Act, among others. Due to the on-going Provincial state of emergency declared March 22, 2020, Village of Bible Hill has reassessed the impact that continuing restrictions have on operations, and accordingly, has updated its efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19 locally.

On March 22, the Province of Nova Scotia declared a state of emergency to help contain the spread of COVID-19. The state of emergency will be in effect for 14 days through April 5 at noon and may be extended.
The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing provided direction under the declared state of emergency that closes all Provincial and Municipal parks and beaches and prohibits all travel into those parks and beaches.
In a March 22 release, the Province stated that Nova Scotians should only leave home for essential items and services. Also in the release, the Province stated that Provincial trails will remain open for exercise and gathering limits and social distancing guidelines must be followed.

The safety of Village residents, volunteers, employees, elected officials, municipal partners and our neighbours is of great importance. Village of Bible Hill is monitoring public health guidance issued by our Provincial and Federal governments, as well as the World Health Organization.
