Bible Hill Canada Day 2016
- Published: July 6, 2016, 10:22 am
Now that Canada Day is all wrapped up for the year I want to thank everyone that came out to participate. We had nearly double the number of parade entries this year.
Congratulations to Colchester Legion Pipes and Drums for winning Best Community Organization, NSPE for winning Best Commercial Organization and Team Canada Curling for winning Most Community Spirit.
Thank you to the Bible Hill Fire Brigade for providing traffic control, I know I saw some other departments helping and it is great to live near so many supportive neighbours.
Thank you so much to all of our elected officials that were able to come out and bring greetings from all levels of government - MLA Lenore Zann, Colchester County Councillor Christine Blair, Bible Hill Village Chair Tom Burke, and everyone else, as always, it was a pleasure to have you in attendance.
Thank you to Slate Youth Centre, Bible Hill Kinsmen, Bible Hill Fire Brigade, Scotia Pool, The Scottish Society, and everyone else who came out to provide food and entertainment. Thank you to Gordon Tucker and all of the other musicians who put on such a fabulous show for us at the Walter Langille Gazebo.
Finally, we wouldn't be able to pull this off without help from Canadian Heritage who provided funding and support to put it on.Next year will be Canada's big 150th Anniversary Celebrations, I can't wait to see what it will look like!
