Village Commissioners met on Tuesday, June 9, for the 72nd Annual Meeting of Electors.
Municipal Auditor, Christina Hardy - Doane Grant Thornton, presented audited financial statements for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2026. They can be viewed by clicking here.
Commissioners and Bible Hill Fire & Emergency Fire Chief, Justine Kelly, presented reports on the activities of the preceding year. They can be viewed by clicking here.
Statement on the passing of Commissioner Dwight Giddens
The Commission and staff of the Village of Bible Hill are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Commissioner Dwight Giddens.
Commissioner Giddens served the community with dedication, integrity, and a sincere commitment to the well-being of the village and its residents. Dwight’s contributions to governance and community life will be remembered with gratitude and respect.
Our flags have been lowered to half-mast in Dwight's honour.
On behalf of the Village Commission and staff, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Carolyn, and to family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Our thoughts are with all who are mourning this loss.

Bible Hill Village Commissioner Election to Be Held June 13
Bible Hill Village Commissioner Election to Be Held June 13
Following the close of nomination period, three candidates have been confirmed for the two
available Village Commissioner seats. As a result, an election will be held to determine the
successful candidates.
The candidates nominated area:
o Dwight Giddens
o Tim Shea
o Amanda Chaplin
The two successful candidates will each serve a three-year term ending June 2029.
Bible Hill electors can vote at either of two polling days to be held at the Village Office, 67 Pictou Road, as follows:
o Advance Poll – Friday, June 12, 2026, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
o Election Day – Saturday, June 13, 2026, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.
To vote, a person must, as of Election Day:
o be a Canadian citizen;
o be at least 18 years old;
o have been ordinarily resident in Bible Hill for six months; and
o be entitled to be registered on the list of electors to vote.

Familiar Faces Return as Village Commissioners
Familiar Faces Return as Village Commissioners:
Commissioner Tim Shea and Commissioner Dwight Giddens have been re-elected as Bible Hill Village Commissioners.
The results were as confirmed as follows:
- Shea - 131 votes
- Giddens - 113 votes
- Chaplin - 87 votes
- One ballot was spoiled.
The Village Commission will meet next on June 16, when they’ll elect a Chair and Deputy Chair for the coming year and make committee appointments

- Adult Soccer
Adult Soccer kicked off on Tuesday, May 19 from 7:00–8:30 PM at the Bible Hill Recreation Park Multipurpose Field, but late registrations are welcome!
- Senior Fitness Summer Schedule
Monday, Wednesday· 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
at the H. Douglas Boyce Village Hall (67 Pictou Road)

- Toddler Time
Toddler Time will run throughout July and August on Wednesdays from 10:00–11:30 AM, providing a fun and engaging space for young children and caregivers.

Kick off the summer with a relaxed outdoor play day featuring family-friendly recreation and creative fun at the Bible Hill Recreation Park.

An energetic morning focused on sports skills, and active movement-based games at Bible Hill Recreation Park.

Cool off with a water-themed afternoon full of playful outdoor activities and summer fun at Scenic Drive Park
- Monday, July 20
10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. : Ages 5–7
Creative play featuring hands-on activities, imagination, and outdoor exploration at Bible Hill Recreation Park.
- Friday, August 7
10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. : Ages 8–12
A high-energy event featuring team challenges, games, and friendly competition at both Farnham Road Park and Poplar Drive Park.

1:00–3:00 p.m. : All Ages
Wrap up the summer series with fun-filled community play designed for the whole family to enjoy together at both the Airport Field Park and Bible Hill Recreation Park.
